Spring Fever

Spring Fever Showcase Spring Fever: A SoBo Showcase Fundraiser

Do you need a little spring fever to break out of your cabin fever?  Join us on Saturday, April 11 at 7:30 p.m. for the SoBo Showcase of Dance.  The showcase is a fundraiser for the SoBo Studio scholarship program for mothers of young children.  The audience can expect to see a mix of Belly Dance with some flavors of tribal fusion, Hot Pop a dance style that is rhythmic with smooth curves, Modern, Contemporary, Improvisation, Central African, and Flamenco.

The showcase is a great opportunity to check out what SoBo has to offer, just in time for the spring session of classes, while celebrating our escape from winter.  The show is also a celebration of SoBo’s vision to keep dance accessible to all members of our community. SoBo is unique in that it caters to mostly adult dancers of all ages, abilities, and dance levels, with a few fun options for children. Come out and be wowed by the beauty and depth of the art of dance while supporting a truly community focused dance space.

Admission to the show is $15 suggested donation, with free admission for children 12 and under, and will be taking place at SoBo Studio located at 74 Cotton Mill Hill, #346, Brattleboro, Vermont 05301.  No one will be turned away! If you want to learn more about SoBo Studio, please visit www.sobodance.com or call Cyndal Ellis at (802) 258-7378.

Magnetism: Open Floor Movement Practice

Join internationally acclaimed teacher Deborah Jay-Lewin in an Open Floor International workshop in Brattleboro. We will explore the topic of Magnetism: the dance of what attracts us to, or repels us from, relationships. Deborah trained with Gabrielle Roth in the ’90s and has been teaching 5Rhythms worldwide for over 20 years. She is the cofounder of the Open Floor movement and is excited to be teaching in this modality on the East Coast of the US for the first time.

Cost: $45 at the door, $35 in advance.
